Title X is fiscally conservative, saves Taxpayers millions each year, and helps uninsured and low-income persons get life saving screenings for breast and cervical cancer, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, urinary tract infections, HIV, STD, etc. Title X was introduced then representaives James Scheur (D-NY) and George Bush (R-TX) and Senators Joseph Tydings (D-MD) and Charles Percy (R-IL). Thus, Title X had full support of intelligent elected officials from BOTH parties who based legislation on facts. It still saves the lives of men and women, keeps mothers healthy, helps babies be born healthier, helps couples grow families responsibly even though they are low-income and/or uninsured. But....most importantly, Title X REDUCES the need for abortion. In doing so, it is the most proven and highly effective publicly funded pro-life program in existence today!
