Hi Melissa,

Thanks for your response. I'm from the Detroit area, not NY. I have gone through three "cycles" of seeing doctors about my breast pain over the past 6 years. I call them cycles because each doctors want me to take all of the same tests all over again and then after 4-6 visits they says they don't know what the cause of my breast pain could be. They check to see if I have diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and all of the most common ailments (I have never had any of these health issues) then they don't know what else to do. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any doctors out there who know how to diagnose anything other than common ailments. I am always very serious, prepared and focused during office visits but so far that hasn't helped. I have pretty good health insurance so it seems that doctors see me as a good opportunity to bill the insurance company for office visits even if they know they can't help me. I plan to start all over again in 2012 but it would be a lot easier if I had a referral to a doctor who is more experienced in diagnosing less common ailments.

I do get very sharp pains in my underarm area. It's not every day but it happens quite often. I have never had any type of boils or sores under my arms. It's hard to says if I have a loss of appetite because since I have breast pain all day, every day as well as other pain I'm numb (emotionally/mentally) almost all of the time and often go 12 or more hours without eating and I rarely feel hungry at all. I don't think this is because of a loss of appetite. I think it's because of the constant and severe pain, fatigue and stress due to my ongoing illness.

I hope that your breast and underarm pain have gone away. Thanks for writing.
