Since you had some side effects from pills in the past is yet another reason you should always have this monitored by your physician.
As for Plan B or the morning after pills in general, it is very common to expect a couple months of irregularity after taking them. This is very common. Since this is your first period, you should expect to have at least 2 to 3 months of irregularity before your periods return to normalcy.
