That little bump that goes away is usually indicative of tendon damage and it most likely healed by itself. Unfortunately, an XRay wouldn't pick that up. If it was your achilles tendon and there is still some damage, you can ask for an ultrasound or an MRI. In the meantime, you can take an NSAID such as Advil or Motrin for pain whenever the tingling occurs again.
