Hi there. You could be negative for HSV-2 but test positive for HSV-1, the strain that most commonly causes oral outbreaks (cold sores). This strain is often passed during oral sex. It's unlikely (or impossible) to contract herpes or any STDs from a bike or toilet seat - according to ashastd.org, there are no document cases of contracting herpes from inanimate objects since the virus is fragile and doesn't live on surfaces long. Also, with proper treatment it's possible to have a full and enjoyable sex life :)
I would recommend visiting ASHA's site. They have a lot of helpful, medically accurate info: http://www.ashastd.org/std-sti/Herpes.html
