It could be an infection, but you will have to return to your doctor for confirmation. Other conditions that can cause anal itching include: 

Hemorrhoids

Anal fissures

Yeast Infections

Too much moisture

Chemical Irritants (such as soap)

And excessive washing. 

Please return to your doctor if you think that you may still have the infection you had before.
