I wish we could give you a cut and dry response to your question, but unfortunately this is something best left for you and your husband to discuss with his doctor, who knows all of his history including surgical history and history with dialysis and his current state of health. Peritoneal dialysis is performed less frequently now than it used to be, however, it may still be an option.
