I received a flu shot last year at a rite aid pharmacy. She gave the shot too low in my arm and she hit the protective covering surrounding the nerve. I lost the use of my hand for a little over 3 months. I had to go to physical therapy 3 times a week for quite a while. I was so scared I wouldn't ever get the use of my hand back. Doctor's told me that it takes a very long time for a nerve injury to heal. It has been a year now and I am so grateful I got the use of my hand back but am now terrified of any needles. I can't bring myself to get a flu shot this year. I still have a lot of problems still with that hand and arm. The injection site is still tender when touched. I strongly suggest that people get their flu shots or any kind of injection at their doctors office and not a pharmacy although I will probably just avoid them alltogether now.
