Good article. If you've been overweight most of your adult life and after having kids (late 40s) finding it near impossible to lose weight with low metabolism, juggling full-time work, kids, elderly parent, etc. do you recommend having lap band surgery do help get weight down to a point where you can REALLY do some meaningful core strengthening work? I am 5 ft. 6 and approaching 225 lbs. I have very weak L4/L5 lower back and it's getting more difficult every day to find the time and ENERGY to do core work. It's like I have to end this cycle. Lap band seems like only way out but I feel like it's a cop out and has it's own set of side effects.
