Emily,
You did mention that your period is 6 days late. I suggest you grab an over-the-counter pregnancy test kit to at least confirm you are not pregnant. But as Shana mentioned, you should have an open discussion with your parents. They are there for you, and even if you don't agree with everything they tell you, they have the advantage of age over you, and as is, they always know what's best for you.
Good luck and keep us updated

Hi Emily, while I am no doctor to doesn't seem to me like you have anything to be worried about since you did not have intercourse. But with that said you should ALWAYS use a condom and be cautious. If you are thinking of being sexual active, you should ask your parents and your doctor about the option of birth control IF it is right for you. Don't worry about them being mad and it is ok to be scared to talk with them about this. They will most likely be much happier that you came to them and talked about this rather than having an unwanted pregnancy at a very young age. I am sure you will be happier in the end as well.

You can always pick up a pregnancy test from a drug store and check yourself if you are truly worried. It may be worth setting up a doctor's appointment to discuss birth control options and to 100% confirm that you are indeed not pregnant.

It's a good thing that you are asking questions about your health so you should feel great about taking that first step :) If you don't take care of your body who will?!

Hey emily, i want you to know that i have had the EXACT same issue. And as well am also a virgin. Im also 16. I have been in this situation a couple times there after going on birth control. Also after these accidents i have taken plan b. I highly recommend plan b if another thing like this happens to me. It works great and if u ever get scared it is a great way to take your fear away. I have taken it twice and it has been highly effective. :) birth control should not take up to 6 months though!!
