Guide

Hello VmaryC,
Many women with active inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, have irregular periods. It appears that when the disease goes into remission, regular periods sometimes return. The reason is not know. Inflammation does affect the hormone that regulate the menstrual cycle. It is thought that nutritional problems can also interfere with the monthly cycle for women with IBD.

Depending upon your age, perimenopause might be the reason that your periods stopped for two months.
