period stopped but still in bad pain

i started my period a day and a half ago and had all the usual symptoms. today i woke up with period pain on one side lower back and front but no blood and the pain actually feels worse than when i was bleeding. i was steralised ten years ago so should not be pregnant. what could be the problem.
