Being overweight can cause a person to experience shortness of breath with even minimal exertion. A blockage of the air passages in your nose, mouth, or throat may lead to breathlessness.
More serious medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, can cause breathlessness.
You must be evaluated by your physician to rule out a potentially serious medical condition that may be the culprit.
