Maybe, you can arrange something for you and his mother to do together. Such as maybe go to lunch or to a mall. Something you know she likes to do, so she can have the time to know you better. Unfortunately, if she doesn't accept it's not the right start for a relationship. It might be better to stay as friends and only time will tell.
