Thank you for your question. Seeing the physician is a great idea about this since there are too many reasons behind mouth sores to simply answer this question. If you had any sort of cut in your mouth - this could get infected pretty easily since our mouths are constantly wet which an open sores will take a while to heal. Also, mouth sores can also be a sign of a sexually transmitted disease. I apologize for not having a better answer but the possibilities are too high to provide you a direct answer. Your physician can certainly give you a better answer with observation.
