I had a 5 cm cyst on my left ovary that I did not know about. It ruptured during intercourse (dr said it could have happened at any time during any type of activity). It ruptured through my ovary into my abdominal cavity causing internal bleeding. I had an emergency surgery and due to all the tiny holes they removed 2/3 of the ovary to stop the bleeding. Leaving 1/3 attached to the fallopian tube. My doctor said I should have no issues conceiving when that time comes. I am 27, healthy, and not trying to have children at the moment. He explained to me that we develop cysts every month, but most go away on their own. Thankfully mine was benign. I would recommend surgery or at least talk to your doctor about your options to minimize this cyst. I would not wish the pain I went through on any one.
Hoping this helps.
Warmly,
Ash
