I came down with tongue cancer in May 2012 (stage 2)- I had surgery, and it turned into stage 4 in November 2012. I was 61 at the time- with no known risks, never smoked, never did drugs, social drink every now and then, tested negative for HPV virus. My question to all of you women- did any of you take Fosamax or Atelvia or Boniva? I am starting to wonder if that is the reason for my tongue cancer- researching and finding out studies show it could cause throat cancer and also ulcers and sores on the tongue.

Thank you, I am in remission- feeling great and no problems at this time. Just curious- my doctor has ordered another bone density test and this brought up my bad memory of taking Fosomax and then Atelvia and then Boniva. I only took these terrible drugs for just a few months and stopped taking because of the bad side affects. I came down with tongue cancer within a year. Just curious if any other women have come down with tongue cancer by taking these drugs and having no health risks to have caused the cancer.
