I always see lots of people like chewing ice in the summer, but they don’t know it’s really a bad habit. The cold feeling can make you happy,but it’s also can make your teeth getting sick. There’s a random fact to illustrate my point: Elephants only have a set number of molars that they can grow during their lifetime, and their diet of tough fibrous veggies eventually does quite a number on their teeth. If they do not die of other causes, they will die of starvation since they wear their teeth down completely and they can no longer eat. chewing ice will excessively wear your teeth, which can be bad if done frequently over a long period. Your teeth can stand up to chomping on lots of hard things when it’s healthy and pretty resilient. However, the enamel on your teeth was formed by cells that are no longer present when they grow into the mouth(the consensus is they become part of the attachment that holds your gums to your teeth), which means that if you rub layers of enamel away it doesn’t coming back.
