it is quite possible that you have abdominal adhesions, which are scar tissue that develops following surgery.

Acid reflux is a separate problem. Acid reflux is the backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus, which is the tube that connects the throat and stomach.

If your episodes of acid reflux are occasional, you can try losing excess weight, eating smaller meals, and avoiding foods that seem to trigger heartburn, such as fried or fatty foods, chocolate, and peppermint. Avoiding alcohol and nicotine may help, too.

Anonymous, you should not have to live with the pain. Consider finding a health care professional that deals with pain management. That person may be able to offer you treatment options other than medication.
