Guide

Hi tan91!

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community!

As for being worried about pregnancy, the only thing that can really set your mind at ease is to take a pregnancy test.

A pregnancy seems less likely because you had protected sex, (good for you for using protection to prevent STD's and unwanted pregnancy) AND you had sex 3 days BEFORE your PERIOD.

You are most fertile 5 days before you ovulate and the day of ovulation when your body releases an egg. The greatest risk of getting pregnant is one or two days before you ovulate.

Do you take any birth control to prevent against an unwanted pregnancy? Also, I would suggest getting really in-tune with your menstrual cycle so you can predict which days to avoid sex (those days being your fertile window). Every woman's menstrual cycle is different, but it sounds to me like you are pretty aware of your body as you noticed that you did ovulate this month.

Women's cycles can be tricky and they don't always work like clockwork.  How many days late are you this cycle?

Here's a great article on in-home pregnancy test from the EmpowHER community.

tan91, will you take a pregnancy test? Please let me know if you do and what the results are.

Good luck! I will be thinking about you!

Best,

Kristin
