Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about possibly being pregnant.

When you miss more than seven consecutive days of your active hormone containing birth control pills, you have no protection against pregnancy. Having sexual intercourse during the two weeks that you missed taking a daily pill put you at high risk. The withdrawal method, which is pulling out before ejaculation, is only effective if your boyfriend is experienced and has great self- control,
knowing exactly when to pull out.

I am surprised that you didn't have break through bleeding when you missed almost two weeks of active pills. You should have started your period when you started taking the inactive pills.

Anonymous, have you started a new pack of birth control pills?

I have two suggestions. You can re-test, or call your physician who prescribed the birth control pills and report what happened and that you have not started your period.

Please keep us updated.

Regards,
Maryann
