Guide

Hello lindamcc,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us. I hope we can offer you support, guidance and a safe forum to vent your feelings.

I understand that you suffer with menopausal symptoms, have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and have hypertension.

Lindamcc, are you currently taking a synthetic thyroid hormone, such as synthroid, to treat the symptoms of an under active thyroid gland?

Are you taking any medication to reduce your high blood pressure?

Have you seen a psychiatrist for your anxiety and depression?

Many of your symptoms, such as problems sleeping, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, and the inability to be calm, are symptoms of an anxiety disorder.

Lindamcc, I want to stress that these symptoms are real and need medical intervention. Thoughts of suicide are a red flag that you need help coping with depression.

You cannot go on like this. Please ask your primary care physician for a referral for a good psychiatrist. Medication and therapy offer great promise.

It is vital that all your physicians are aware of all the medication that you take.

If you feel desperate, call one of your sons, a dear friend or suicide crisis hotline. Things will get better. Never stopping hoping. Help is out there for you.

Regards,
Maryann
