Can high blood pressure be cured?

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at the age of 16 and I've never liked the feeling of taking mediaction. When I would witness fight my sisters had my body would shake and my heart felt like it would come right out of my chest. I'm currently 18 and in college so keeping up with meds is just something I would like to get rid of on my to do list. If it's not able to be cured, can it at least be managed without meds?
