Welcome to EmpowHER. This is a difficult question and one that can be best answered by consulting your primary care physician, a neurologist and your gynecologist/obstetrician.
For all our readers, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a rare cliniconeuroradiological syndrome that is characterized by headache, confusion, seizures and loss of vision. It can occur because of a number of causes, predominantly malignant hypertension and eclampsia. Preeclampsia and eclampsia may be the most common causes of PRES.
Knowing what precipitated this syndrome for you will determine if there is a risk of recurrence with a subsequent pregnancy.
