Guide

Hello kpmm,

Thank you for sharing with the community. I'd love to give you some helpful information on the subject.

First, I want to say that your mother is correct in saying that some women still have short periods during pregnancy, and you do have the symptoms of pregnancy.  But the only way of know for sure is by taking a pregnancy test.  The best time to take one is after an unusual period, so if you take one now it should be accurate.

You have a chicken before the egg kind of case.  If you are not pregnant, then your symptoms would be most likely be due to illness which can greatly effect your menstrual cycle.  Your other symptoms such as constipation can be causing the lower back and abdominal pain.  You must keep in mind that digestive and intestinal problems can also cause nausea, dizziness, headaches, cramps etc.

Your first step is to take a pregnancy test.  If it is positive, you can assume that pregnancy is causing the symptoms.  If it is negative I suggest that you treat your symptoms as digestion or intestinal trouble.

Let us know if you have any more questions along the way.
