That is terribly frightening! You never want to shake a baby even if you are in a panic. If your baby is not responsive, but breathing you will want to hold the baby on her side.
Here is a video from the British Red Cross you should watch. (Of course in the U.S. you would call 9-1-1)

Anon, please contact your pediatrician immediately and discuss this with him or her. You certainly don't want to take any chances!
Please let me know if you call the doctor and what they say.
