The CRE Superbug is a bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics and is found normally in the gut but can also be found in the urinary tract, lungs, skin etc.
This bacterial infection has been linked to the usage of the duodenoscope which is used in thousands of producers each year.
Most healthy people are not susceptible to getting infection. People in nursing homes, or long hospital stays are most susceptible.
I suggest that if you need a procedure including the use of a duodenoscope that you make sure they use proper cleaning procedures, or even use a new one if possible.
