Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

When you stop taking birth control pills your body can experience symptoms that can closely resemble pregnancy.  Your body is adjusting to the decrease in hormones that were being delivered via the birth control pills.

With that said it sounds like your body is adjusting to the change, however there is still a chance you could potentially be pregnant.

Are you taking antibiotics?  This could lessen the protection of birth control pills even before you stopped.

With regards to the ovulation bleeding, going off birth control pills will definitely affect your menstrual cycle.

You mentioned taking a pregnancy test and the result was negative.  Take another pregnancy test and select one that is more sensitive for early detection or wait until you are 7-10 days late.  If it turns out negative again, chances are your body is responding to decreased hormones.

I hope this helps and congratulations on deciding to start a family!

Be well
