A woman's menstrual cycle sheds the lining of her uterus to prepare for pregnancy. I wasn't able to view the picture, (but to be honest - I'm kinda chicken and screamish about that kind of stuff). But even without seeing the picture, it sounds like uterine tissue/ membrane.
Are you taking hormonal contraception/birth control? The increased amount of hormones definitely affect how much our uterus sheds.
Is this the first time it has happened? If this is not the first time this has happened, as a precautionary measure, make and appointment to see your doctor. It could be a sign of potentially other things going on and it's better to get checked out sooner rather than later.
