Unfortunately there is no standard treatment for pityriasis rosea because the cause is unknown.  But below I have listed some things you may want to try if you haven't already.

  • avoid overheating, and hot showers/baths
  • cool oatmeal baths may help reduce itching
  • use moisturizers or calamine lotion while skin is damp
  • use as little soaps as possible and when you do, use gentle products such as Dove or Johnson&Johnson
  • some topical steroid creams that may help are: Antibiotic Erythromycin, Zovirax, or Famvir.
