Hi, I am currently going through this and have been diagnosed with the same symptoms. This started last week, and I thought I was maybe getting a yeast infection or a UTI, but the symptoms were different and not as severe, but the urethral pain, that's the most bothersome for me right now. I had been taking cranberry vitamins, drinking a lot of water and Solaray Yeast-Cleanse supplements (very effective for urinary and vaginal health). But I was diagnosed today with BV, even though I came in suspecting a UTI and/or yeast infection both came out negative, after having a swab at the urgent care. I asked about the urethral pain and she told me it was a result of the BV bacteria getting into urethra, apparently this is common. I was prescribed with a 5 day regiment of a vaginal gel called metronidazole vaginal gel or the brand name Metrogel Vaginal. I start my first dose tonight and will see what happens in 5 days. Was also told that since I am sexually active with my partner, that foreplay and lube are extremely important. Too rough of sex without lube can cause this too. This was different from both the UTI (had a kidney infection too) and yeast infections I've experienced, but going through those made me act quick.

It is so uncomfortable and can't be sexually active until I am better, haven't been when I started seeing these symptoms. My partner has been very understanding and supportive though. I feel for you, and I hope that you got help and relief from this. <3
