My question is about hyperthyroid medication prior and during pregnancy

My wife is 8 weeks pregnant and prior to the pregancy she was taking methimazole since July 2014 5mg 3x p/day. She has been off it since April 30th 2015. The doctor says we are a high risk pregnancy and we are very worried. Is there a concern for the methimazole she was taking? What are some of things I should be concerned with ? Current medication Is PTU, is this ok for pregnancy? Thank you
