Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

There is no particular known reason why some women are more prone to infection than others.  However, you are doing the right things.  Here are more helpful tips.

Sometimes sex or penetration can push bacteria into the bladder.  It is important to urinate directly before and after having sex to flush out the bacteria.

Also it is important to wipe from front to back and not back to front after using the bathroom.

Sometimes the chemical nature of tampons can irritate the vagina and urethra giving bacteria the chance to invade.

When you see a specialist you will probably receive a pelvic exam and/or a pap smear to they can do more in-depth analyzation.  It is a good idea to see a specialist since your infections are reoccurring.

Good luck at your doctor's appointment.
