Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

As women,  our bodies are constantly changing as we age and our hormone levels fluctuate. Anytime you notice any changes in your body, it's surely something to take note of and investigate further.

Specifically with breast we should always get the following breast changes checked out with our healthcare provider.

Lump or firm feeling:

  1. A lump in or near your breast
  2. A lump under your arm
  3. Thick or firm tissue in or near your breast or under your arm
  4. Change in the size or shape of your breast

It's always good to do regular self breast exams, that way you can recognize any changes sooner rather than later.  But self examinations are not a substitute for mammograms.  Call your doctor to schedule one asap.

I hope this helps,

Be well,

~Gillette
