The lump could be caused by a swollen/tender lymph node. Causes can include infection, or allergies. In women it can potentially be an indicator of breast cancer, which is why it is wise to see a doctor to determine to nature and cause of the lump.
If the lump is benign, you do not need treatment. If it is caused by allergies or infection the doctor may prescribe a treatment.
