Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern about a pregnancy risk.

There is always a risk when sperm comes in contact with the female's genital area.

There is a high risk with penetration and ejaculation into the vagina during the five days before and on the day the woman is ovulating.

In your case, semen got onto the outside of her genital area. Could any sperm swim past and up into her vagina? Possibly.

When is your girlfriend's next period due? I think there was little to no risk and I don't want you both to stress out over this. Stress can cause her period to start late.

But, if she is regular, and her next period is late by at least seven days, then she needs to take a pregnancy test. In the future, always use a condom.

Regards,
Maryann
