Hi Scottishlass,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Did you have physical therapy to asisst you in rehabilitation? Most patients can restore muscle strength and feel comfortable walking within four months after surgery.
Have you been fitted for a shoe modification?

After physical therapy patience are fitted with an insert in the shoe called a SACH foot is sometimes useful to help you walk more normally. This heel cushion compresses as you put your weight on the foot and allows the foot to roll more normally as you step. Another useful modification of the shoe is a rocker sole. If you don't have these items, talk with your doctor about them. Perhaps they will offer some relief. If that doesn't help, I would get a second opinion if I were you.

I hope this helps.

Be well,
~Gillette
