Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to us for advice.

Before contacting your gynecologist, I suggest you repeat the home pregnancy test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning and use the urine when you first get up. It is concentrated from being in your bladder overnight.

Then, I suggest you talk with your gynecologist. A second negative result and late period or a positive result will require a visit.

There is a slight risk of becoming pregnant after tubal ligation. This happens to about 5 out of 1,000 women after 1 year. After a total of 5 years following tubal ligation, about 13 out of 1,000 women will have become pregnant

The tubes can grow back together or a new passage forms. This is called recanalization, which allows an egg to be fertilized by sperm.

Keep us updated.
