My boyfriend and I are 17 weeks pregnant. I had a pap smear done in January. They told me that the pap smear test was not tested directly for trickomonasis but was negitave for infection. Now it's March and I developed symptoms got checked for the SDI and was told I am positive for trichomonas. My questions are could of my partner or i had this infection before we got together? Could of I got pregnant with trick? If my pap had no infection detection could of I still had trick? My doc said most likely I contracted trick after January but my partner denied being with another. Could he be telling me the truth? If so why did it just show up 17 weeks into my pregnancy? Last and most importantly. We are both going to be treated tomorrow. Is my baby boy going to be alright now or am I going to have to worry about something the who time throughout my pregnancy or even after? Everything has told me prior to this week's trick positive test that me and my baby were healthy and he is great. Thanks for your help. Update my doc did tell me they checked for this in Jan pap smear. I had no symptoms and was neg now my next question is if I had no symptoms in Jan with a negitive test then with symptoms and a swap test with positive results could of it been dormate for three months and be a negitive result in the pap smear? Cause my partner keeps denying cheating. I want to believe and trust him but my doctor said I had to of been exposed after January. Is sex the only way to catch trich? I would of been carrying trick for 3 month dormate if it was him giving it to me. I am not innocent and could of been carrying it dormate first as well. He hasnt been diagnosed yet or treated but can he be diagnosed negitive when he goes for his test as it says men can have a negitive test? I did not cheat just this had been so stressful on all of is. Just trying to believe him and trust him for our unborn child and for us. Thank you
