Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community with your concerns.

I urge you to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist. These symptoms are not usual and the cause must be identified.

It is possible that you are experiencing pelvic organ prolapse.

Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition in which structures such as the uterus, rectum, bladder, urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself may begin to prolapse, or fall, out of their normal positions. Without medical treatment or surgery, these structures may eventually fall farther into the vagina or even through the vaginal opening if their supports weaken enough.

The symptoms that result from pelvic organ prolapse commonly affect sexual functions and bodily functions such as urination and defecation. Pelvic pressure and discomfort are also common symptoms.

Anonymous, the itching and soreness can be caused by irritating substances, infections, or menopause.

Exposure to a new soap, detergent or scented toilet paper can cause irritation to the genital area. Skin conditions such as eczema, a yeast infection, and bacterial vaginosis lead to itching. Vaginal dryness associated with menopause is another cause.

With a physical examination, your physician can made a diagnosis and offer treatment.

Regards,
Maryann
