Guide (reply to Anonymous)

Hello Anonymous,

Did you have unprotected sex before April 29 and 30?

If so, one could think the spotting on May 3 was implantation bleeding. But, implantation bleeding occurs six to 12 days following conception. Some women will have slight cramping and spotting when the fertilized egg implants in the uterine lining.

How old are you?

If you are in your late 40s to early 50s, the spotting and delay in the start of your period could be an early sign of perimenopause.

Since you are now having a normal menstrual flow, you are not pregnant. Consider speaking with your gynecologist about this recent change. That is your best resource.

Regards,
Maryann
