Birth control becomes active after one week of pills. By the time you attempted intercourse you were fully protected. Condoms are still necessary to prevent STD's but not essential for preventing pregnancy while on birth control pills.
Birth control pills works by preventing ovulation. Without an egg to fertilize, pregnancy cannot occur, even if the male ejaculates into the vagina during penetration.
With that said, pregnancy is not possible is this situation. Do not be hostile towards your boyfriend. He doesn't deserve that, especially because you did plan together to have sex in the first place. So, he did nothing to intentionally compromise you.
