It was not too early to test. However, if you have had unprotected intercourse since your last period, it is possible that you are pregnant.
I suggest you buy a name brand test. Test first thing in the morning when you wake up and use the bathroom.
If you get a second negative result, have not had unprotected intercourse since your last period and are younger than 50 years old, please contact your gynecologist, who can order a blood test to rule out a hormonal imbalance.
