Since your period is five days late, and you did have (?unprotected) sex close to ovulation, take an early response pregnancy test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning. Use the urine when you first wake up and use the bathroom.
It is not always easy to pinpoint the exact day of ovulation. A released egg can live about 24 hours. So, there could have been a chance for pregnancy. The test result will be definitive.
