Hello,
I went to my gynecologist about changing my birth control pills. She decided to switch me from Trinessa (Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Pill) to Lomedia (Norethindrone and Ethinyl Estradiol Pill). She wanted me to switch from Trinessa to Lomedia during the placebo week of Trinessa. I listened to her orders and did so on Sunday. On Thursday of that week I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Is pregnancy possible? I have been taking Lomedia around the same time I used to take Trinessa.

Thanks. I was reading an article online and it talked about switching pills. It said if you are switching from a progestin pill to a combination pill, you need to start taking the combination pill right after you finished the last active progestin pill. It then explained about switching to another form of a combination pill. They said to start taking the new pill pack after the last inactive pill. I wish I would have read this article before changing my birth control because I would have had some questions for my doctor. I'm relieved to know that I am still covered even though I started my new birth control pack during my old pack's placebo week.
