Postinor prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. It is most effective if taken as soon as possible and within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
It should work for you as long as you had not already ovulated. You will know if it worked once you have bleeding or your next period. If you do not have any bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, test for pregnancy.
