If I understand correctly, you think you ovulated a week before having unprotected sex.
Sperm can live in the female reproductive tract for three to five days. A released egg lives about 24 hours. If you did indeed ovulate seven days before sex, chances are the egg and the sperm died before being united.
I suggest you take one more test. Wait until October 17. If still no period, test in the morning. For the most accurate result, test with the urine when you wake up and use the bathroom. Be sure to check the expiration date on the box and follow all directions carefully.
