Guide

Hello Rhories,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question if it was possible to become pregnant.

Basically, birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. By taking a daily active pill at the same time each day, your hormone levels remain at a constant level to achieve this.

By missing two active pills in a row might or might not have triggered ovulation.

You had intercourse on Sunday, which was second day without an active pill. You made up for one missed dose on Monday evening and the second missed dose on Tuesday. Sperm can live in a woman's reproductive tract for three to five days.

There may have been a very slight risk of conceiving. Wait until you reach the week of inactive pills. If you have withdrawal bleeding, then you know that you did not conceive.

Regards,
Maryann
