Well I am 51 yrs old and still had periods every 28 days . But then my system went haywire . I am a very active person who enjoys running with all three younger sisters . I had a TAH w/ right Oophorectomy and Salpingectomy for DUB on this past Monday 2/28 . Home 3/1 @ 8am for my Birthday . I feel great ! Only one Tylenol #3 every 8 hrs for discomfort . So here my story .
About 8/2015 I noticed I was feeling weak and despite training for these I/2 Marathons I couldn't finish strong . Something wasn't quite right . So went to OB/ Gyn and labs we done . My Hgb dropped 14.8 to 12.1 . Just enough for me to notice . I let it go for another year until bleeding was relentless ( more lab work and TVUS ) done . This time Hgb was 10.1 and Fe went from 20 to 5 . I was spent for sure . So I forced myself to do last 1/2 Marathon w/ my 19 yr old daughter ( her first ) this past Nov . I made it fine but when I returned home from Vegas I started to heavy bleed nonstop until reaching out 12/1 to OB/Gyn . I was placed on Progestin ( of all things ) While on Progestin 5 mg BID since 12/1/2016 to stop heavy bleeding, my right ovary started to show suspicious changes when they compared TVUS's from 12/3 /2016 and 2/3/2017. All other tests ( D&C , Pap, Colposcopy) were negative for malignancy .
So my question is since I am feeling some SE ( flushing , hot flashes, scatter brain , sleep deprivation , and fatigue ) should I go for consultation for Estrogen Replacement based on Woman Iniative Study Results published 2/2017 . Thank you
