By protected sex, I assume you mean a condom was used? If used correctly, each time you had sex, (no breaks or leaks) condoms are very effective at preventing pregnancy. So your risk is low. Breast tenderness or soreness can also be associated with your period. If your period does not come within a week of its expected date, you can take a home pregnancy test to ease your mind.
